India has witnessed unprecedented times all through April, May and yet ongoing. Several men, women and children have lost their lives due to the 2nd wave of the coronavirus in the country. These are times when middle aged children, who are not staying with their parents, have been extremely worried for their well-being, and on other hand, there are also some who have demonstrated absolute lack of empathy towards the older generation.
One such story has been reported by Hindustan Times, where an 84-year-old Covid positive patient was sent to Mumbai from Indore – all alone in a taxi – after he was forcibly discharged from the hospital.
According to the story, Ashok Chaturvedi, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, was forcibly taken to Indore by his daughter-in-law Dipika earlier this year. Now, Ashok’s daughters, Jaya and Jyoti Chaturvedi have accused Dipika of carrying out this inhuman act of leaving their father alone at such a delicate time. They further say that Dipika did this to usurp the money of their father.
Quoting to HT, 84-year-old’s younger daughter Jaya Chaturvedi said,
He was admitted to a hospital and was getting treated for the coronavirus disease. Dipika sent him to Mumbai in this condition, without telling any of us. He is all alone, and not even tested negative for Covid-19.
On other hand, patient’s elder daughter Jyoti who lives in Mumbai, had to run from pillar to post to get the registration number of the taxi he was sent in, since Dipika had allegedly severed all channels of communication with them. Jyoti was still waiting for her father’s arrival at the time of HT story.
Case:
The daughters claim that their father Ashok Chaturvedi was taken from his native place Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh to Indore by the daughter-in-law without their consent. They last visited their father in January this year and the issue was discussed. According to both Jyoti and Jaya, Dipika reached Ghazipur after they left and persuaded him to come with her to Indore where he was mistreated.
After reaching Indore, father-in-law got sick and post much pressure, the octogenarian was admitted to Noble Hospital, as per Jaya. She quoted,
Dipika got him discharged within three days without even my father receiving proper care. He later tested Covid-positive and we had to intervene to get him admitted to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital.
Jaya further added,
An 84-year-old man is now sent all alone in a taxi from Indore to Mumbai travelling for 16 hours being Covid positive without informing anybody from the family.
According to both the daughters, all their father’s money has been usurped by Dipika, and they don’t know where and how it has been used. They have also accused Dipika’s mother Sneh Chaturvedi and sister Ritika of being aware of everything and involved in this alleged crime.
Both daughters have now decided to approach the police for appropriate action.
