‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain’ Fame Chahatt Khanna Now Wants ‘Out Of Court Settlement’ With Second Husband

TV actor Chahatt Khanna, who worked in popular soap Bade Acche Lagte Hain, demanded out of court settlement after filing for divorce on grounds of being mentally and sexually tortured. On other hand, her husband Farhan Mirza revealed that his wife now wanted to settle her pending divorce as she was dating her co- star Ribbhu Mehra.

Chahatt first got married back in the year 2009 and her marriage failed as she accused her husband of domestic violence. Thereafter, she met Farhan Mirza, son of Sharukh Mirza, a well-known writer in the entertainment industry, in the year 2013. She fell in love with him and they soon got married. The couple also gave birth to two daughters. However, the second marriage too fizzled out soon.

According to Chahatt, she had gone through a lot. She accused her husband of sexually harassing and beating her. She claimed how she was scared he would come to her workplace and create a scene. She also stated that her husband used to make allegations about her relationships with other men and tortured her physically. This was the main reason cited by the actor when she filed for divorce in 2018.

Earlier, at the time of filing for second divorce, Chahatt had told Bombay Times that her husband would abuse her on more than many occasions. She also said in the interview that she had been scared of him visiting his sets and create a scene. Thereafter, she labelled him a sexual abuser as well. She also narrated when she had a pain in her breast and instead of taking her to the doctor, he insisted on having sexual intercourse.

After his wife’s one sided allegations, Farhan came forward and gave his statement in February this year. He stated that there were other reasons for their separation. In an interview with Spotboye, he said that after claiming all the allegations in front of media, Chahatt had called him and asked for out of court alimony settlement. However, when he confronted her and asked for the reason, he said Chahatt accepted that she had been dating the Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actor.

Farhan further revealed that Chahatt told him that she was ready to withdraw all charges she had levelled against him. Although, he was upset about his wife dating another man while still being married, he also informed her that he was already aware of her extra marital relationship, through a common friend named Amrin. This same friend played cupid between his ex-wife and the other man. He quoted,

I know the girl Amrin through whom they met. Plus, recently when Chahatt called me to settle the matter out of court, I asked her if this is because she’s dating Ribbhu and she accepted it right there.

As reported by Koimoi, Chahatt clarified the matter and said,

In fact, he has also threatened me in one of his messages saying that if I ever get married in future, he will kill both of us. He is not fulfilling any duty of a father but talks about custody. He behaves like a psychopath, my personal life is quite out in media now, I only want to be known for my work or not been known at all. I thank my lucky stars that I moved out of my marriage.

The couple is yet to be granted a divorce by the court.
