Often we curse husbands to be the worst creatures on this planet, who are only here to ruin lives of their better halves. However, we rarely appreciate the gestures of these same men who do anything to save their loved ones……even at the cost of their own lives.
An Army officer died while trying to save his dog during a fire incident in Gulmarg area of Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. In the extremely devastating incident, the army Major has lost his life in the bargain.
Reportedly, a fire broke out in the officer’s hut and Major Ankit Budhraja of Corps Signals which is attached with SSTC Gulmarg, rescued his wife and one of his dogs from the flames. However, when he went back to rescue his second dog, he ended up suffering from burn injuries up to 90 per cent on his entire body.
Unfortunately, the dog also later succumbed to its injuries and passed away in the fire. A senior army official told media that a thorough investigation is underway in order to determine the cause of the fire, and a forensic team was brought in to gather the samples.
