Problems for Maharashtra’s Social Justice Minister, Dhananjay Munde seem to be far from over. Within a few days of a woman withdrawing her rape complaint against Munde, now, his live-in partner has filed multiple charges against him under sections of rape, unnatural sex, kidnapping, domestic violence, and various others on Wednesday.
Earlier, Munde had been by the recent complainant’s sister herself. However, those charges were later withdrawn.
Case:
Munde’s live-in partner, with whom he has two children, has approached the Mumbai Police Commissioner’s office and submitted a complaint against him. In her complaint, she has alleged that Munde should be booked for sections of rape, unnatural sex, kidnapping, domestic violence, and various others.
The complainant in the application submitted on Wednesday said that Munde had kept their two children at his bungalow named Chitrakoot and wasn’t allowing her to meet them. She also alleged that Munde is a person of ‘ill character’ and her children could be harmed if they aren’t rescued. She also accused Munde of calling the police when she went to the bungalow to meet her children on January 24.
The woman has warned of a fast unto death beginning February 20 if action is not taken against her complaint. She said,
Allow me to sit on fast until death in front of Chitrakoot bungalow or Mantralaya or Azad Maidan. Action should be initiated against Munde and he shouldn’t be allowed to contest any elections.
Munde’s Defense
Munde has once again refuted the allegations levelled against him by his live-in partner. His statement reads as below:
The issues between me and her are under the process of mediation in court. A mediator has been appointed by the court. Two mediation meetings have also taken place between us. The mediation includes the issue of custody of children and other issues raised by her.
In spite of the terms of mediation being decided by the court, the allegations raise doubt. It seems that the woman has no interest in the mediation through legal process and it seems that the only interest is to run a media trial and defame me.
Whatever decision will be given by the court will be binding upon everyone. The allegations have been made with the sole intent of defamation and are baseless.
